On December 1, 1945, the Shindishover Relief, Inc. held an affair to raise funds for the landslayt back in the hometown now known as Sędziszów Małopolski.
Ruth Kreinik found a rolled-up panorama photo of the event labeled
DINNER DANCE TENDERED BY
SHINDISHOVER RELIEF, INC.
PYTHIAN TEMPLE. DEC 1, 1945
Ruth sent the photo which is too big for my scanner, so here it is in sections. [Click on an image to see a larger version.]
Ruth identified her parents Morris and Lillian Kreinik and also Stanley Kreinik's parents Walter and Helen in the right panel.
Kreinik Cousins Section
Maybe Walter's brother Moe Kreinik and his wife Rose are at the event.
My idea is to publicize this to the people who might be able to identify other members of this landsmanshaft.
The names below are from a 1941 Relief Dinner held at the Hotel Sharon on Saturday Eve, Feb 22, 1941. Some of the same people may be in the 1945 photo.

"Izaak (Irving Taffel) immigrated in 1911 on the ss Amerika from Hamburg and joined his brother who, by then, had established himself at 400 E. 75th St in Manhattan." Mattityahu Yarom, "You're My Cousin!!!" 2012, page 82. Irving was at the 1941 dinner.
Below is a list of last names of people who also might be in the 1945 photo. The list has been gleaned from the Mount Hebron Cemetery listings of burials by the SENDIZOW GALICIAN society, and from searches in the JRI-Poland databases for people with links to Sedziszow.

Hello! I was looking for some information about my mom's home town, I know it as Shendishif, and lo and behold your page popped up...... that photo looked familiar, I remember it in my grandmother's house.... and lo and behold my mom and grandparents are in it, the only survivors of a large family...... Their last name, Chaim, was changed to Heyman. My grandparents, Emily and Lazar Heyman are sitting with my mom, Elizabeth Heyman Schaffer. Thank you SO Much for putting this in your blog!!! Now I have a bit more information about where their town was!

"If you look at Matisyahu Yarom's book "you're my cousin - 3rd edition" around page 136. The Taffel's of Berlin
That is my family. My grandmother was Sophia Taffel of Sedziszow. She married Moses Hirsh Singer of
Chrzanow. Matisyahu Yarom has all the facts wrong. Most the names on the pictures in the book are
wrong. Moses Hirsh Singer certainly looks a lot like Pinchas Taffel. The picture includes Chaskel Hans
Taffel of Berlin ( Sophia's brother ). He did not perish in the holocaust. He hid out in Vichy France with
quite a bounty on his head. He is the only person with the last name of Taffel that I met in 1970. He was
a big smoker so he died in the mid 1970s and is buried in Berlin. Also the person who Matisyahu Yarom
identified as Moses Hirsh Singer is actually the famous Max Menachem Taffel. That Lonnie Bergman
( Lonnie Taffel ) has an active imagination. She visited Minneapolis and got those two pictures from my
father in the early 1990s. I never met her because my mother said she was a very bossy person. My
parents went to Taffel family events, but I don't."
